Women Will Honor Belva Lockwood

Life Size Oil Portrait Will Be Unveiled Tonight in the New Willard.

Congressmen, members of the W.C.T.U., the Y.W.C.A., the League of American Penwomen, professional and society women will unite to honor Mrs. Belva Lockwood, in unveiling a life-size oil painting tonight in the Red Room of the New Willard. The painting is by Mrs. Nellie Mathes Horne, of Boston. Mrs. Sarah D. La Fetra will act as temporary chairman, and Mrs. Margaret Dye Ellis will preside.

Arrangements for the reception are in charge of Mrs. C.W. McNaughten, I who will be assisted by Mrs. John A. Logan, Mrs. Mary S. Lockwood, the Rev. W.R. McKenney, Mrs. Harvey W. Wiley, Mrs. Clara B. Colby, Mrs. Emma Sandford Shelton, Justice W. P. Stafford, the Rev. Olympia Brown, Mrs. Henry F. Blount, H.B.F. Macfarland, Mrs. Hannah J. Bailey. The speakers will include Senators Clapp, O'Gorman, Martine, and Gardner; Congressmen Broussard and Cary, Mrs. Colby, Mrs. Wiley, Mrs. Blount, the Rev. Olympia Brown, the Rev. W.R. McKenney, and Mrs. Emily S. Shelton. Mrs. Warner B. Gibbs will sing.
