The Daniel Webster Punch.
Says A. E. Lewis, of Milford, Pa., who took the recipe from the lips of the “God-like Daniel” himself, Webster's idea of a punch was this: “One bottle pure old French brandy — smuggled direct, preferred; one ditto of sherry; one ditto of old Jamaica rum; two ditto of claret; one ditto of champaign; one dozen lemons; one pint of strong tea, sugar to taste; strawberries and pineapple when in season; plenty of ice but no water.”
