Tucker Witness Dies.


Edwin B. Hay, Handwriting Expert, Dead in Washington.

WASHINGTON, June 1l — Edwin B. Hay, a lawyer of this city, known throughout the country as an expert in handwriting, died at his home to-night after a short illness. Mr. Hay was Past Grand Exalted Ruler of the Elks and was a well-known Mason.

He testified as a handwriting witness in the murder case of Charles L. Tucker, the Massachusetts murderer. He also was a handwriting witness in the Patrick trial in New York, in the Mann-Collier libel case, and other notable trials. He was a member of the Gridiron Club of this city.
