“Serenity” Goes Modern

Meridian Park Statue Brought in Line with Fashion

JOSE CLARA'S statue, erected in Meridian Park, opposite the French embassy, in memory of Lieut. Comdr. William Henry Schuetze, U. S. N., has been decorated in the presumptive interests of modernity. Her eyebrows have been penciled and her lips and cheeks have been accorded touches of rouge. The vandals are unknown, but the damage can be corrected without difficulty. –Star Staff Photo.
