Gov. Johnson's Grave.

Believed that his Resting-Place Has Been Located in Frederick

After some years of uncertainty it is thought that the grave of Thomas Johnson, the first Governor of Maryland, has been located. He was buried in All Saints' Episcopal graveyard in Frederick Md., and his grave has remained unmarked.

Through the assistance of the older residents of the city and from relatives it has been learned that he was buried in a vault in the extreme northeastern section of the cemetery. The remains of those buried in this graveyard are now being moved to Mount Olivet Cemetery, and the graves of the Johnson Family will be last to be disturbed.

Those in charge of the work say that when the Johnson vault is opened they believe there will be no difficulty in ascertaining the remains of Governor Johnson, who nominated Washington, for commander-in-chief of the Continental Army.

There is a movement on foot in Frederick, if remains are found, to erect over them a suitable marker to the memory of Governor Johnson.
