Sidat Singh's Body Recovered From Lake Huron
Selfridge Field, Mich., Jun. 27 (AP)
Wilmeth W. Sidat Singh of Washington, S.C. (sic), Army flier and former syracuse University athletic star whose plane plunged into Lake Huron May 9, was found in the lake today.
Discovery of the body and its later identification as that of 25-year-old former football and basketball star at Syracuse was announced at the Army air base here tonight. Sidat Singh was a member of the 332nd Fighter Group, an all-Negro unit.
The plane had crashed into the lake two miles out from East Tawas. Sidat-Singh officers said, parachuted from the ship, a single seater pursuit plane. He was on a routine training flight form Oscoda at the time.
